Title: Mechanism to Commercialize Iranian Inventions which are Patent Protected in the United States

Abstract:
This presentation will outline a proposed approach to commercializing technologies invented by Iranian researchers working at research institutes world-wide which are patent protected at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (U.S.P.T.O.). Topics covered in the presentation will include (1) an analysis of the U.S. Economic Sanctions identifying the key language; (2) a review of a U.S. District Court ruling on Iranian intellectual property rights in the U.S., (3) the formation of a new not-for-profit company (e.g., Iranian Inventor Association) incorporated in the United States with a Board of Directors comprised of Iranian scientific and business leaders for assignment of Iranian inventions at the U.S.P.T.O., (4) a mechanism to market, license, and protect the intellectual properties in the U.S., and (5) a possible mechanism to distribute royalties to individual inventors.
